Upside Hockey's highlights the Oilers' Top 10 Prospects with honourable mentions

Upside’s Chief Rankings Officer Eldon MacDonald has produced Top 10 Prospects lists for all 32 NHL teams as well as organizational rankings.

The criteria: Simple. The definition of a prospect is anybody that we thought was not on the team permanently at the time we produced the list.

Stats are as of November 17, 2025.

Edmonton’s pool is thin but has some interesting forward and goalie prospects.

1. Quinn Hutson (RW) – FA | Bakersfield (AHL)
   Undersized but skilled scorer. AHL production good.
   Upside: Top-9 scorer

2. Maxim Berezkin (RW) – 2020 5th round | Lokomotiv Yaroslavl (KHL)
   Big, power winger. KHL experience valuable.
   Upside: Bottom-6 power forward

3. Samuel Jonsson (G) – 2022 6th round | Fort Wayne (ECHL)
   Big, athletic Swedish goalie. ECHL starter.
   Upside: Project goalie

4. Roby Jarventie (LW) – 2020 2nd round | Bakersfield (AHL)
   Skilled winger with size. Consistency issues.
   Upside: Fringe NHLer

5. Tommy Lafreniere (C) – 2025 3rd round | Kamloops (WHL)
   Playmaking center. WHL numbers decent.
   Upside: Depth forward

6. David Lewandowski (LW) – 2025 4th round | Saskatoon (WHL)
   Two-way winger. Reliable WHL presence.
   Upside: Bottom-6 forward

7. Viljami Marjala (LW) – 2021 5th round | Bakersfield (AHL)
   Skilled Finnish winger. Adjusting to AHL.
   Upside: Depth forward

8. Aiden Park (RW) – 2025 7th round | Univ. of Michigan (NCAA)
   Scoring winger. NCAA freshman.
   Upside: Long-term project

9. William Nicholl (C) – 2024 7th round | London (OHL)
   Two-way OHL center. Leadership qualities.
   Upside: Depth forward

10. Beau Akey (D) – 2023 2nd round | Fort Wayne (ECHL)
    Puck-moving RHD. Coming off injury.
    Upside: #5-6 D

HMs: Paul Fischer, Eemil Vinni, Matvei Petrov
